Description
Taurine promotes and maintains vitality
Taurine is vital for cats. Cats (unlike dogs or humans) are not able to produce taurine in their own bodies. As the taurine content in many ready-made foods is often too low to cover the corresponding requirement, it is very important to add it to the food supply.
ANIBIO Taurine supports the metabolism, stimulates the immune system as well as kidney and liver function and plays a major role in the central nervous system. In the long term, a taurine deficiency can lead to blindness, heart muscle disease or immune and nervous system disorders, for example.
The active ingredient taurine plays a central role in the regulation of the nervous and immune systems and also stimulates liver and kidney function. Taurine helps the body to absorb dietary fats. It serves as an information transmitter in the central nervous system and is involved in the regulation of body temperature, brain development, the maintenance of vision and normal heart function. Taurine is one of the amino acids that play an important role in supporting cell metabolism and regulating fluids in the body's cells.
Contrary to the widespread opinion that the administration of taurine only makes sense for cats, the latest studies show that taurine can also be a useful support for dogs.
Taurine can be essential for dogs in some cases (e.g. due to breeding in certain breeds, in the event of illness or a deficiency). Prophylaxis for taurine deficiency - strengthens the dog's heart
The amount of taurine a dog needs depends on its age, circumstances, condition, weight and health. ANIBIO Taurine for dogs should be used as a cure over 4 weeks and repeated every 3 months. You can also administer taurine continuously, as an overdose is not possible.
Feeding recommendation
Cat
An adult cat receives 200-500 mg per day as required (the measuring spoon inside contains approx. 800 mg). It is advisable to use a precision scale for exact dosing and to measure the taurine precisely.
Dog
under 25 kg approx. 500 mg-1000 mg 1-2 x daily / over 25 kg approx. 1000 mg-2000 mg 1-2 x daily
Taurine can be administered over a longer period without hesitation, as too much fed taurine is excreted in the animal's urine.
